Cool n quiet driver for phenom ii x4 965 on linux

Hey i have AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor and i just installed Ubuntu on it.
Ubuntu is working fine but the fan which is present on the processor is running very fast or we can say that it is making more sound.
So is there a cool n quiet driver for Ubuntu?

  1. Not sure about the driver. Have you tried adjusting processor fan control in the BIOS?
  2. Hi,

    I am seeing similar.

The fan seems to be running at full speed, despite no load and the temp is nice and low.

Have you managed to sort this on your system?

    Adapter: PCI adapter
    temp1: +37.0°C (high = +70.0°C)
    (crit = +99.5°C, hyst = +97.5°C)

    Adapter: ACPI interface
    Vcore Voltage: +0.93 V (min = +0.85 V, max = +1.60 V)
    +3.3 Voltage: +3.26 V (min = +2.97 V, max = +3.63 V)
    +5 Voltage: +4.86 V (min = +4.50 V, max = +5.50 V)
    +12 Voltage: +11.86 V (min = +10.20 V, max = +13.80 V)
CPU FAN Speed: 3183 RPM (min = 600 RPM)
CHASSIS FAN Speed: 1002 RPM (min = 600 RPM)
POWER FAN Speed: 0 RPM (min = 600 RPM)
    CPU Temperature: +37.0°C (high = +60.0°C, crit = +95.0°C)
    MB Temperature: +27.0°C (high = +45.0°C, crit = +75.0°C)
