I'm leaning more and more towards buying a NEC LCD1760NX the specs of which seem among the best. But I've still some doubts.

First are published specs really trustworthy ? Specifically response time. I'm a bit confused about that switching from black to white compared to switching from grey to grey LOL. Also I've read that some of Sony's for instance were blatantly inexact...

Then how is the rendering of dark areas, I mean caves/tunnels in a Quake-like or, for me, sceneries at dusk or dawn in MS Flight simulator ? Can a LCD of that nature (450:1, 260 cd/m2)renders details on the walls, on the ground when everything is in semi-darkness ?

thanks for any clue...

Dominique
