TP-link TL-PA111 powerline adapter, this legit

Today when i was going through our computer city - i came across this puny lil' device that boasts of wireless connectivity over the powerlines...is this legit or is it a waste of topic and time ?

I'd want to know if this is in any way a replacement for a router...as i'd want to connect more than one pc to the net from a wifi device.

wireless connectivity over powerlines, also called wireless powerline adapter.

you can connect it to the modem, that means replace the router. connecting several pcs with a wifi function.
