I don't have a direct answer to your question as I didn't follow new
product releases recently. However, you can get a good overview here:
And if you can understand German at least a bit, then this one might help,
too (there's a good search facility there)

Make certain you read reviews as to latency, which is distinct from
shutter speed. A 1/4000 shutter speed is nice, but if there's a 1/4
second lag between pressing the button and acquiring the image, it will
cost you many shots, and plenty of cameras are WORSE than 1/4 sec.
It's quite embarrassing in situations like this: You have the group of
people posed for the snapshot. You press the shutter release. The
flash fires. The group starts moving. Then the actual shutter release
and flash go off. Enough time sometimes elapses that people are already
out of the frame.

I'm led to believe that's a lot of money in US dollars, so you should
have some fantastic options.
I really like the Canon Powershot "G" cameras, and some of the "A"
cameras are pretty good too. But the shutter latency is the whip that
drove me to buy my EOS 20D.
If you're serious about sports, you probably need ten times your budget,
because the Image Stabilizer Zoom Lens you're going to want, will not be
cheap.
Considering that, the P&S you'll buy now should be good enough to keep
you going while you save up for the camera you really want.
