Hi, I just bought a Toshiba 1502(16x) and when I run DVDSpeed, the fastest it goes is 2X. Does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it? Thanks.

I have the same issue, I've just run dvdspeed99 and it quotes 1.95X.
My system specs incase anyone isinterested are:-
Abit KT7A Raid
1.1@1.25 TBird
512MB ram
IBM deskstars 2off
all via 4in1 drivers added
WZ bios
UDMA enabled
DVD set as master on primary ide port
running windows ME

I've got the same problem but only with W2K! Under WinMe it does its 16* ... So if someone has any suggestion, it would be great!!! I've got all the latest drivers for chipset + grafic card!

PS: does anybody know where I can find a firmware update for my DVD-ROM so it can play all regions (RPC1)?!?

I know this URL but there is no patched RPC1 firmware for the sd-m 1502!
