will using 2 7950's in crossfire run into a bottleneck with my i5-2500k processor? will overclocking the CPU help remove the effects of this bottleneck?
If there IS a bottle neck, it will be because of PCIe 2.0, not the 2500K itself, but a small OC wouldn't hurt, I suppose. It IS a K series CPU, after all.
If there is any bottle-neck at all, it's nothing important. And the 'bottle-necking' issue is highly over-rated, anyway. Get the fastest card(s) you can justify buying and enjoy them.
Yes actually the 7950's do bottleneck from an 2500k at even 4.5ghz. This is from personally experiance with this. I have no clue what the guy talking about pcie 3.0 bottlenecking because that is just not true at all. Games like bf3 will hover around 45 fps. Its actually mostly about game optimization and newer demanding games like bf4 will be able to utilize all the 2500k's power
