Black screen after putting in new graphics card

I was attempting to put in a new power supply and graphics card (gtx550 ti) in order to be able to play SWTOR. Now, after I enter my windows password, the screen just goes black and I'm still able to see and move the cursor. It also won't let me enter safe mode.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to remedy it?

Thanks!

Did you put the 6 pin connecter from the power supply to the graphic card? Did remove all the old drivers before you installed the new card? If you are running win 7 when booting try pressing the F8 key untill you get opptions for repair or safe mode etc. then try to enter safe mode and go from there.

Maybe you don't put the 6-pin pci-e connector from the PSU that's why.
