6870 Crossfire question

I am planing on getting another 6870 in May so I can crossfire. Will there be a price drop in the 6000 series because the 7000 series is coming out early next year? I am asking this question now because I am still a little worried that they will discontinue making the 6870 so by the time I get out of school and get a job and get enough money, I will not be able to purchase the 6870 anymore. i think it will drop but there also a chance it might not. just look at 7970 price right now. i don't think there are reasons for amd to drop the price of 6000 series. but i think the price will eventually drops when amd starts releasing their mid/entry range of 7000 series. btw you can still get price drop with rebate included with the card
