[HELP] Asrock motherboard sound

Last response: in Components
Share

I am currently buying an Asrock po3 gen3, I will be building a gaming PC and I was wondering if the sound card will be able to support surround sound(or dolby headphone or nothing if I can hear footsteps, voices etc. In game) The headphones I have are Corsair HS1A's which are analog and use 3.5mm jacks.
So basically will the onboard sound be good enough or is a sound card/usb headphones essential?
Thanks in advance,

Fin

Most people find the onboard sound to be more than adequate for their needs. Audiophiles usually opt for an add-in soundcard.

The onboard ALC892 of your board supports up to 8 channel audio.
