First Build, Looking for Your Opinions!

Hey Guys, This is my first ever PC build that I intend to use for Gaming, Media, and School Stuff. I may play and/or record games such as BF3 and Minecraft, and was looking for your opinions on the Build. Oh yeah and I have already bought the parts, and they all came to around £400. They are as follows;

Processor; AMD Phenom II X4 960T (can unlock 2 hidden Cores)
GPU; XFX ATi Radeon HD 6770
Motherboard; MSI 870-C45 (Easy overclocking switch.)
RAM; Corsair XMS3 4GB
HDD; Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB
PSU; XFX 650w Semi Modular XXX Edition PSU
CPU Cooler; Arctic Cooling Freezer A30
Case; Cooler Master 430 Elite
Additional Fans; Cooler Master SickleFlow 120mm Blue LED PWM x2
Optical Drive; Sony Optiarc 24x DVDRW
Monitor; Acer 21.5" Full HD

  1. You probably would have been better off with an i3 2120 (and a complimentary motherboard) and saved a few bucks there. In general the Intel chips are really putting it to AMD right now in terms of performance.

    Also, a Hyper 212 Plus (or EVO) CPU Fan would have saved you a few bucks and still gotten a reliable, high quality fan.

    This extra money could have been thrown at a GPU upgrade.
  2. I wouldn't count on those extra cores unlocking, so don't get your hopes up.

    Crush3d is right, you could of gotten an i3 and, upgraded to a 6790 or 6850 with the extra cash.

    Other than that, good build.
