Can a pre overclocked card be overclocked?

Hi guys. I'm looking to buy the Gainward GTX560 Ti Phantom 1Gb and it comes with a pre over clock of 835Mhz on the GPU clock and 2050Mhz on the Memory clock. Is it possible to overclock it even higher?

Yes ,but not to much.There is a lot 560Ti from others brands who have the core clock at 900 and Galaxy brand even at 950 Mhz ,But the shaders lower then 2000Mhz.

Yeah. But still the limit of maximum overclocking is the same like stock.

Yes it's possible. Actually, I'd buy either Asus GTX 560 Ti with DirectCU II or MSI GTX 560 Ti with Twin Frozr II because those coolers are excellent and you will be able to reach very high clocks with both of them. The reason pre overclocked cards are better are the only thing: the custom cooler.

Will I be able to hit 900Mhz with the Gainward GTX560 Ti Phantom? How much fps increase will there be at 1080p for such an overclock?

It should reach 950Mhz to a full Ghz (1Ghz) because 560 ti is a very good overclocking card. But after you do that make sure you check and monitor the temperatures and do stability/burn in test like furmark or msi combustor. Not all 560 ti is the same you know...

Ok that is great news. Just for the record, I'm not planning to SLI. I have a Corsair GS600 Power Supply, and a Zalman Z9 Plus Case with four fans installed.

Just try 975Mhz first and then do stability/burn-in test if it is very stable and the temperature doesn't go very hot and doesn't show artifacts/stable then try 1Ghz after. And yeah, Corsair GS PSU are pretty great.
