I have recently bought a new Antec Kuhler H2O 620 for my AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE because the stock cooler was starting to kill my ears.

After I installed it without any problems(?) I booted my PC and everything started spinning and I could hear fluid flowing through the tubes, however, my computer didn't get to POST or BIOS and it did not make the beep. After having re-checked all cables and after re-inserting my CPU I got to my user account but it crashed soon after. (got a bluescreen saying that there is something wrong with (the drivers of) the recently installed hardware))

Because I couldn't get it to work I decided to test my old stock cooler again and it worked.

My specs:
Motherboard: ASUS M4A78XTD-EVO
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
GPU: MSI N570GTX
PSU: Corsair HX750W
RAM: 4x 4GB Kingston HyperX

How come my pc won't boot with this cooler? Could it be damaged? Does my motherboard not support it? Do I need to install any software before applying thr cooler? Is it because the radiator fan is connected to the pump and then my pump connected to the CPU header?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

and if you connect the fan directly, the pump won't work? try installing the software first.

I tried that too; connecting the fan to the chassis header and the pump to the cpu header the system also wouldn't boot.
I didn't get any software included in the package I received so what do you mean with 'the software'?

Connect the fan to the CPU fan header on the mobo, and connect the pump directly to a 4 pin molex off your PSU to ensure it gets a full 12volt supply, you may need to use a 4pin to 3 pin adaptor like this..

However according to the Antec product sheet the fan should connect to the lead coming from the pump, and then the other pump lead should connect directly to the CPU fan header on the mobo, but ensure that you have the motherboards quiet fan utility disabled in the bios.

What exactly do you mean with the 'Quiet fan utility' in my BIOS?

I made some pictures, is it the Cool 'n' Quiet thing or the CPU Fan speed, or something entirely different?

CPU Q fan function is already set to disabled so you should be good.

I just gave another try on putting the Kuhler in my case, yet without success.

It seems to me that either my motherboard is not supporting a pump (being plugged in to any fan header) or the Kuhler is faulty.

I did exactly as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbNKNkLxCpk
I placed the fan included in my case, placed the radiator on it. I then placed the holder of the pump with the pump in it on my cpu and made sure it was on tightly and in the correct way. I put the pump power cable into my CPU-FAN header and the included fan into the pump power slot. After all the fans start to spin my computer just won't post/do anything.

I tried putting the power cables everywhere without any working solution. I removed the components of the Kuhler and placed my stock cooler back, with success.

I honestly have no idea what's wrong so I am going to return the Antec Kuhler 620.
I hope I'll get a new working one or else I am going to buy the Corsair H60/80.

I just got a reply from the tech support and they DID manage to get it working with the exact same system specs as I do.

Might it be that my BIOS has to be updated? I'm currently on v02.61 of an American Megatrends BIOS.
I found some links here: http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A79XTD_EVO/#d...

I think I'll have to put the ROM file on a USB Flash Stick and then go into the EZ Flash 2 utility of my BIOS where I should be able to update it.

Is this the right thing to do? Is there anything else that might be blocking my system from booting? I bought my mobo 1+ year ago and have never updated the BIOS since.
