Does the 570 rape the 6970?

I have been talking to this guy on youtube. It started civil enough, but in a private message, he stated that "the 570 rapes the 6970 in 1080 and below".

Now, I am not the most knowledgeable fellow when it comes to hardware, but I am no doofus, either. I was always under the impression that the 6970 was slightly better on paper, but the 570 did slightly better in benchmarks in 1080p and below - with the 6970 winning some and losing some.

But this guy, who had previously come across to appear quite knowledgeable, said that the 570 "rapes" the 6970.

Okay, and if that were not enough, he has also stated that a 6870X2 using 2 x16 PCIe connectors, is slightly more effective than a 6970X2 using 2 x8 PCIe connectors.

I asked this guy a trick question that I am waiting for a reply back from, just to test him and see if he is credible.

I asked him how the 570SLi matches up with the 6970X2 (while the 570 may be ever so slightly better than a single 6970, we all know which one scales better in a dual card setup, and by far).

I am waiting for his reply.

It does look fairly even, with 6970 winning some and losing some. And in the power consumption and noise categories, the 6970 wins clearly.

I knew "rape" was a gross exaggeration.

I also love how even though 90% of games are optimized for Nvidia, AMD still destroys them in half.

The clear exception and reverse is Dirt 3, which is just embarrassing for AMD.

What about Deus EX HR, A VS P, Shou gun 2, F1 2010, Star Wras....even Metro 2033 the "TWIMTBP Game" perform better in AMD cards.
Anyway i don't care who bribes who, care only about the overall performance, see this

HD 6970 crossfireX scales better. and is simply a better option mostly.

while the 570's are more powerful for gaming. the superior scaling of the 6970's pull's ahed quite a bit.

but with superior nvidia drivers.. 570 sli is more stable and worry free. but if u can get CrossfireX to work.. and work as good as SLI. you have a winner..

And that chart means nothing. Only a moron would choose a 570SLi setup over a 6970X2. Those lists are easy to make to look that way. Run a bunch of tests with various games and pick and choose what to show - you can make it appear however you wish.

Everybody of any reputable status and knowledge knows that AMD crossfire beats SLi any day of the week.

And do you know what makes your opinion all the more hilarious?
