you will need 120 mm fan 1 for the back and 2 for the top the should all push air out so the front is intake and the other are outake that create a flow of air in the case same as the one on this http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6654#

are they all the same kind of fan just in different places, do i just buy 3 of the same 120 mm

Yes, just get 3 fans that meet your needs.

Remember some fans are louder then others. If noise is not an issue, you will not have a hard time picking fans.

I find Yate Loon fans to be very good for the price, but they are not the most powerful.

If you want long lasting fans, ball bearings tend to last very well(i have Antec fans from years ago. So long ago that 120mm fans cost 30$ a pop. They still work).

if you are after quiet, look at some of the Noctua fans, just make sure you get the right ones for your needs. Yate Loon fans are quiet too. I have had some fans from Globe as well that worked very well.

If a fan is too loud, you can always use a fan controller on it to slow it down. OR let your board control them if it supports it.

You may also come across 4 pin fans(PWM) most should work fine on 3 pin board headers
