Dolby Digital 5.1

I'm thinking of buying a SB live 5.1 sound card and the Cambridge DTT2200 speakers. Although the Creative site states that you can get Dobly Digital from DVD's with this setup, i've read that this isn't true and requires modification to run correctly. Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Thanks in advance! (Current DVD drive Pioneer DVD-105s Region Free)

I have SB 5.1 and DTT2200. Everything is fine. For 5.1 true sound I do this:
Enable 5.1 speakers mode on LIVE!Task (Liveware)
Enable "AC-3 Decode" and "Bass Redirection" on the Surround Mixer->Advance of the Liveware.
For DVDs: With Power DVD3 (6 channels version) I enable "spdif-out"
With WinDVD2,3 I enable "enable spdif-out"
