Cost of NVIDIA 600 series

hello,
I am building my first gaming computer and i was thinking of getting one of EVGA's 560ti 448 cores. Then i heard about the new 600 series coming out in january. My question is what will be the price range of the new 600 series and will they be worth waiting for? :wahoo:

  1. well you heard wrong :P
nvidias next gen is still some months away, like q2/q3 2012...
amd is launching hd7000 series january 9th, but the availability might be a bit scarce at the beginning. Check out the reviews of hd7970 here at toms and other sites, it's the top card for a while and price reflects that, cheaper versions are supposed to be released in q1.
  2. thanks. I was getting worried about what i should do. So you think i should just go ahead and buy the 560ti 448 right now and if i need some more power when the 600's come out maybe i will just sli 2 560ti's 448. :wahoo:
  3. I'd think most games would run fine with 560ti 448 at least till the next gen consoles come out.
  4. There is no official release date for the 6xx cards, though after spending hours searching on the net, alot indicates that they're being released in 2/3 grand releases, Q3 for the high-end cards, Q2 for the mid-end cards and Q1 for the low-end cards. As for the 560's successor, 660, i'd say they'll be released Q1. As for myself, im waiting for the new 660 to release, instead of getting 2 560's now and then trashing them when the 660's release.

Edit : Wiki says around 200-350$, though unreliable i'd price them about the same. Yes, they are definately worth waiting for, as for the 660, its rumored to be equivalent to the 580.
  5. get the evga 560 and then use thier step up program to get the 660. i think you have 2 months from date of purchase to use the step up. contact evga for details they have pretty good phone support
  6. I've heard they might skip 6xx as they skipped 3xx and just call them 7xx not that it really matters though...
