Games running slowly

I just bought a brand new computer. It is an HP Pavillion p2-1113wb. It has a 500GB hard drive and 4GB system memory. Everything seems to be running great except that facebook games and other small games from let's say HP or Shockwave are running extremely extremely slow or not loading at all. What could this be and how would I go about fixing it? Any help would be appreciated. Also running Windows 7. Oh also when playing these games the computer is near 100 CPU.

  1. Honestly, that system has a pretty weak CPU. It's basically a mobile/laptop CPU in a desktop, which is interesting...

In any case, at only 1.3Ghz, I wouldn't expect much from it. Also, it's an APU, which means the the GPU is integrated into the CPU, and it's quite weak as well.

Unfortunately, it's really not much more than a basic internet browsing and basic computing system.
  2. In that case, what kind of computer would you recommend? What kinds of qualifications would it need to have?
  3. For the CPU, at least, anything from AMD or Intel that's NOT a low end APU will do the job. The E-300 is very low end though. Think A4 or A6, at least, for APU's. Otherwise, a FX-41xx for AMD or higher end Pentium G's or a Core i3 for Intel would be the best lower cost options. An i3 with a decent GPU would be perfect.
  4. Something like this would be the absolute minimum that I would recommend. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883157157

This would be even better for an APU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883157301
  5. Thank you so much. You've been more than helpful. I'm sure you can tell I don't know a whole lot about computers, so if it weren't for you I wouldn't have known what to do next. Again, thanks.
  6. No problem. :)
