Hey all, I recently ordered a computer and I have everything up and running. The only problem is, when it boots, I get a black screen with 'A3' in the lower right. I have researched and have found it could be video or sata. I have tried multiple sata ports and cables, and also changed the power cord from the GPU, all to no avail. After waiting on the black screen with A3 on it for a minute or two, it will boot into a windows startup error (using my old HDD with Win7 on it) or the motherboard setup screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated - I have been without a computer for quite some time and it is essential to my schoolwork.

Motherboard: MSI 970A-G45
CPU: AMD FX-4100 3.6Ghz Quad-Core
GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon 6850HD Ultra Durable VGA Series
PSU: Cooler Master eXtreme Power 600W
RAM: 2x4GB G.Skill

Thanks!

Did you make this from individual parts?

If it has never worked correctly before, you may have a common problem where the FX processor isn't recognized without a BIOS update. You would need a compatible non-FX processor to do that.

Also, the PSU isn't that great. It could easily be a power problem as well. You may want to try to find a different PSU you could borrow and try using in your PC.
