I have been playing bf3 on xbox since it came out, and have loved every battlefield game i have gotten my hands on. For many various reasons, i am looking to switch over to pc gaming. I'm in school right now, so budget is a concern. I'm looking to build a rig that is <$1000 including OS. I would like to have a lot of headroom to grow in the future.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You will love PC over buying a console.... I switched years back. Takes some getting used to playing with a keyboard, or you can buy a game pad with USB. That extra three hundred can go into your computer instead of being only a game station
