i dont know much about pcs anymore as i havent upgraded mine in 4 years,

alot of people i know use this site for pc parts. WWW.SCAN.CO.UK just wondering what your thoughts are on the prices

i want it to be a gaming pc only i only need a tower.

would like to play bf3 on ultra high settings, would this be possible with my budget?

    Both have pretty trashy GPUs.

Would you not build yourself ?

  6. So your getting a better hard drive and more importantly a better GPU and a better CPU cooler which will enable you to OC your machine easily, oh and not forgetting a much better modular Antec PSU with 620w
  7. thanks alot for your help uther , is that alot better than the g30 then? i think i will purchse them seperate from the links, good buy? thanks alot man!
  8. No worries my friend, by the way ive always bought from Scan and they are very good indeed.

And yes the above will be a better gaming PC than the g30 as it has the 448core core version of the 560ti instead of the regular 384core 560ti that the g30 has.

Plus with the Antec modular 620w PSU you will have the power to upgrade to a better GPU in the future if you so wish.
  9. i allready have my own OS so i can save £72 , with this save would you get a better cpu or gpu?
  10. Oh and be sure to come back and tell us how your build went.
  11. OOOO better GPU. give me a mo and ill see.
  12. OK get rid of the OS and the 560ti from that list and instead buy this

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1280mb-msi-gtx-570-twin-frozr-iii-power-edition-oc-40nm-4000mhz-gddr5-gpu-770mhz-shader-1540mhz-plus

Which means you have now an even better GPU, infact this card destroys games at 1080p.
  13. brilliant, im going to favourite this thread so i dont loose it , i dont get paid till end of month, but ill defo be coming to let you know how i get on, im really exited lol!!

again thanks uther, you have been a great help, appreciate it
  14. would this pc with upgraded gpu you linked me be able to handle FSx on max settings?
  15. What res are you going to be playing at ?
  16. well i only have a crappy monitor for the time being, so nothin spectactular res wise, 1240 x 1024 is max i think for this monitor
  17. also will i need any xtra colling fans for the case? just had some good news, so look like i can go on purchase this pc tomorrow! happy days :)
  18. Yes it will max out FSX at your res and up to 1080p.

It has one fitted in the front but if you can afford it i would reccomend buying another 4 of these
    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-coolermaster-sickleflow-blue-led-quiet-case-fan
for the rear exhaust, side intake and top 2 exhaust mounts this will keep your system icy cool.
  19. Oh and when you can afford it treat yourself to one of these puppys to make use of all that new PC hardware you have.

  20. thanks again, i think ill grab them 4 fans too, will i have enough sockets on my MB to plug them all in?

also the cpu fan you linked me too, will that be easy to fit on the MB you linked me too
  21. Yes they will fit.
  22. OR, a radeon HD 6970 for the same price, virtually nothing to split them apart from added features - if you're thinking about 3d go with nvidia, if you're wanting eyefinity go with AMD.
  23. ok just want to make sure i get things right, i built the pc im using now 4 years ago, not built one since lol

never even thought about 3d! so the 2nd card uther linked me too is capable of 3d too?

    Yes
  26. just lookin at the case uther , and i cant see where 4 fans would fit innit, i can only see 1 place the fan will fit, and thats the rear, where will i put the other 3 fans?
  27. again really appreciate the help u gave me uther, if i knew you id buy u a pint :)

wil be in touch when purchased them
  28. can i use my 22 inch flatscreen tv as a montitor, its also hdmi, would i loose quality using a tv rather than a 22 inch monitor?
  29. what's its native resolution
  30. not sure mate, i know my son plays he's ps3 on it at 1080p
heres the model number this will give u a better idea

and its 24 inch not 22

    model number : BLED24FHDL8DVD
  31. that will be fine for your pc and you should not lose any image quality at all.
  32. brilliant, i feel tight taking my sons tv, im sure he wont mind :)

its gotta be better than my old 17" monitor for sure

do use hdmi from graphics card to hdmi tv?
  33. Yes you will need a HDMI cable.
  34. i was on scans facebook page this morning, and decided to ask there advice on the parts im getting, i got this reply

This could be a bit of a problem if you don't have any modular cables spare.

*To save resources and help protect the environment, only required cables are To save resources and help protect the environment, only required cables are included; your Neo ECO 620 does not include a power cord or modular cables

You only need a 650 W psu so i would recommend the corsair ax 650 or tx 650

the tx 650 the guy linked me, would this be ok? would all wires be there? sorry dont mean to be spoon fed, just really want to get this right first time

get a 6870 it works great and people say get a 2500k or something like that but an i3 or FX 4100 should work you might need to overclock
