New build issues

I just put together a new system for a buddy of mine. I got the thing set up and running however after a couple reboots the computer stopped working. Now when powering on, it makes it all the way to the blue welcome screen for windows 7 and then goes to a black screen with only the mouse cursor on it. This happens every time. I tried starting over with the windows install and the same thing happened.

What could be the cause of this problem?

  1. Try the system again without the graphics card, if it still happens and you're not hearing warning beeps or a clicking hard drive I'd say it's most likely a faulty motherboard.
  2. Did you do a fresh Windows install?
  3. is this happening after u install a software or driver for a Specific Hardware ? if so that HW must have a problem .
try doing a Fresh windows installation , and try to reboot after installing each driver .
then u'll find out where the problem is from .
