Ok what i bought ( just received them this morning / the PSU yesterday)

i7 2700K
ASUS P8Z68 V LX ( Mobo)
Thermaltake Commander Case
Thermaltake 650W TR2 PSU

What i already own
HD 6950 XFX / LG D2342P 3D / LG Bluray Burner

I am missing two parts that i didnt buy in order to make sure i do the right choice.

RAM
and CPU Cooler

My questions :

1-I intend to buy some Gskills 8GB DDR3 1600mhz, is there any possible issues due to the 1600mhz ram clock
with the 2700k which i heard is native 1866mhz for ram support ?

2-For the Cpu Cooler i intend to buy one of these three
Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme 65$/CM Hyper 212+ 25$/ ANTEC H2O 620 65$
In order to reach a permanent 4.5 GHZ OC which one do i take ? Will it fit ? Bang for the Buck ? WATER vs AIR ? Do you have better CPU Cooler proposal ?

My purpose is Hardcore GAMING and from time to time Encoding/Editing 3D Content
Thank you in advance for your help and answers

Plz dont wanna argue with anybody about :
The 6950 video card ( AMD is "Better" for "ME" for my "Compatibility" issues with my 3D screen and i feel hatred toward Nvidia for my 470 GTX 250$ Non OC that burned while i was reading MS Word "For real :( " )
The 2700k CPU ( no TY for the 2500k i even if HT can lower game efficiency its only 2% max less and you can still deactivate it and the 2700k is 20$ more expensive than 2600k ... better spend them there then in a fatty BIC MAC, )

If you prefer AMD, you can look at the 7950. :)
Air is more safer, but water can reach much higher overclocks. For air, I suggest the Hyper 212 EVO.

Ok... Let me start with this.. Your Machine is VERY close with the limits of that power supply. You've got about 50w's to spare, when you OC this will likely NOT be an issue, but do you want to run that chance?

7950 is better on power, Maybe switch there? Keep that PSU and spend the few extra on a slightly better video card.

Second I would go with the 212 Evo, or the D-14(Widely considered the BEST air cooling solution)

Lastly, RAM is usualy a consideration to the MoBo, not so much the CPU. You could get 2133 Ram, but 1600 is the best per dollar.

Actually, the 7950 and 6950 use the same power.

Hyper 212 Evo for cooling. I'm running a 4.5 OC and a 560Ti with that cooler, and a Corsair 650W 80+ and my temps are great, and plenty of power. The 212 is under $30. Can't beat that!

I went with the Corsair Vengeance Low Profile RAM (1600) and have no clearance issues with the 212. I'm not familiar with the gskills dimensions and how it would fit with the 212.

Ok then let me start too :kaola:
No problem running AMD 955 BE 125W OC @ 3.6 + CM TX3 , 6950 260W MAX Under heavy load , M4A78EM mobo , 4 DDR2 sticks , 1 SATA HDD , 1 Bluray , on Zumax 600watts PSU ...
So moving to a newer less consuming build ( 95Watts for CPU, 2 Sticks , same rest ... ) with a higher wattage wont be a problem.

I totally agree for Hyper 212 but most test on EVO vs + give the 212+ little advantage and its cheaper.
As for the D-14 did you mean the Noctua NH-D14 ? if yes Then why not the NH-C14 its ranked 2nd best CPU Cooler for INTEL and its cheaper

Instead of relying on one source, you should really check out other reviews between them..
