LCD screen on back of digicam? Best way is to take a piece of ordinary
Scotch tape, stick it on screen, and pull it right off. Scotch Post-It
notes also work great for this.

NO! Too much electronics back there!! Why even think of messing
around and taking such risks with the electronics when a cheap Post-It
note will do it instantly and safely?

I clean mine like I would clean an LCD monitor on a laptop. I use 70%
alcohol to dampen a lens tissue or a polyester "cotton" ball (not a
real cotton one - too abrasive), and gently clean, followed by another
dry lens tissue. Works fine; no scratches or hazing, no problems with
electrical shorts, etc. Of course, I do this with the camera off..... I
also do it as few times as possible, in case there is a little damage
that I can't see but is accumulating - so no more than a few times a
year.

I've used:
1. My breath and a clean cotton t-shirt.
2. Eyeglass cleaner and a clean cotton cloth (works great).
3. The small end of a Nikon Lens Pen (didn't think it would work, but it
did on a cheap point and shoot).

And thren put a cover over the screen to protect it from fingerprints, scratches, or
worse. You can get one from www.daproducts.com. (I am not in any way associated with
that site; I have bought from them, and like their product.)
