Hello,
I'm tyring to update my son's cpu and i've found two that appear to be supported by the motherboard (ESC P4M800 Pro-M2.0) but I don't know which is better...can anyone help me? The two cpu's are: 1) Intel core 2 Duo E6400 2.13 GHz with 1066 BusSpeed or 2) Intel Pentium D 950 Dual-Core CPu 3.4 GHz with 800 MHz BusSpeed. These are refurbished cpu's, but they appear to be the best available for the motherboard. Thanks for your help!

It's a tossup, MHz for bus speed. Both are severely outdated.

the E6400 it is 65 watts compared to the 130 watts of the D so it will not run as hot and overclock better.

It's not even close. The Core2Duo is by far the better chip. The Pentium D is just 2 Pentium 4 chips on the same die. A 3Ghz Pentium D is roughly the same as a 1.6Ghz Core2Duo.
