My goal is to build a gaming computer dedicated to running Skyrim at at least high settings. My budget is about 700$ and I do not need a case, peripherals, or OS.

From a little research I've come up with this as a starting point:

Core i5 2500K LGA 1155 Boxed Processor

GA-Z68XP-UD3 LGA 1155 Z68 ATX Intel Motherboard

HD-675X-ZAF4 AMD Radeon HD 6750 1024MB DDR3 PCIe 2.1 x16 Video Card

GX Series 650W ATX Power Supply

I'm wondering if this is compatible so far and if there is better hardware for my money out there. I'm also looking to get better advice on choosing the proper PSU.

That video card would be a huge bottleneck. Try this setup:

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128498 - Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3H - $159.99
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095 - Seasonic S12 II 620W - $89.99
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 - Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 - $149.99 ($15.00 MIR)
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148419 - Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB - $44.99
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 - Intel Core i5-2500K - $229.99

Total: $674.99 - $15.00 MIR = $659.99
