Gaming computer on a budget

Would it be possible to build a decent system for playing World of Warcraft for $500? If yes, what would be a good setup? If No, how much more would I need to spend?

  4. Looks like Windows 7 is about $120 and probably another $100 for a monitor. Anything else I would need to add? Trying to get started with a basic system. Looking like an entry level gaming system is going to be in the $700-$800 range for everything.
