Is this the complete message?

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).

Had you made any changes to you system?
Loaded any new hardware or software?
If so, we'll need to talk about that.

Looks like the conventional wisdom, courtesy of Google, is to do a System Restore to an earlier date.

Thank you WR2 for your response.
Yes I added a Logitech Illuminate Keyboard, which I have removed again, and on the same day I downloaded an ITune upgrade. After doing all this I rebooted and after that the problems occurred. I tried for a couple of days to fix those issues by going on the net and use all the help I could find, but after two days I gave up and contacted Xfinity Signature Support and they fixed it within 10 minutes.

Looks like someone (wink, wink Microsoft) "fixed" something in an update that broke something else. I have an Asus BluRay drive that stopped working recently. Here's the error message.

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

I've tried uninstall/restart, update diver and CCleaner of the registry to no avail.

The device shows up in the boot configuration and in Device Manager. I can hear it spinning when I insert a DVD.

I tried a Mr FixIt too.

Any other suggestions?
