Building from scratch. FIRST TIME BUILDER

Any 2x2 or 2x4 gigs of 1.5v RAM, psu depends on if you plan on crossfiring two of those cards later on. 650w psu if you do, any 450-500w psu if you don't. HD depends on your budget. WD, Seagate, etc...

Which ram, psu, and hdd do you suggest?

As for ram/psu I went Corsair and I am really happy. I went 8 G RAM just because it was so close in pricing I just could not resist.

HDD; same guy that recommended Corsair told me to go WD Caviar Black and I will as soon as they get a little cheaper. I´ve had WD drives before (not Caviar Black) and they have been great

1) I think I would stretch a bit, and pay $180 at microcenter for a 2500K.

2) A 6870 will need a 500w psu. Buy a quality unit from Seasonic, XFX, Corsair, PC P&C, or Antec.

3) Ram is cheap, and sandy bridge is insensitive to ram speeds. Buy a 8gb(2 x 4gb) kit like this one:

4) Hard drive prices are crazy today. Defer the purchase if you can.
I suggest a 60gb or larger SSD instead. It will hold the os and a couple of games. Buy an overflow hard drive later if you need to.
