Up until yesterday my system was as follows:

CPU: i7 2600k
MOBO: Gigabyte ga-p67a-ud3-b3
RAM: Corsair vengeance 16gb 4x4
GFX : Asus GTX 560
PSU : Antec 620 watt
HDD : Corsair 1tb sata-III

This system worked fine, But then I got a MSI R6950 Twin Frozr III and I haven't been having very much luck with it. Upon installing drivers (I have the latest 12.1 preview and have tried 11.11) and re-booting my login screen looks like this:

Then when I do login the screen goes black and I have to restart. Safe mode works fine. Is this a card or driver problem?

I should also say that everything up to the login screen looks fine as well.

Try two things:

1) Uninstall your video drivers. Then reboot and run Driver Sweeper (free program available for download) and clean out any remaining AMD or NVidia video drivers. Reboot a final time and reinstall your 6950 drivers.

2) If you still have the same problem, try the above but use the previous set of AMD drivers.

It honestly sounds like a hardware problem, but if the above steps (can be done in about 15 minutes) don't work then RMA the card!
