Hey guys/gals,

I just assembled a new computer. AMD 1.0 gig thunderbird, ASUS A7v133, Quantum AS 40gig HD, Gigabyte GeForce2 MX 32, Soundblaster PCI 128, 256mb, etc..

For some odd reason, my screen display is dark. I tried adjusting the settings via my monitor, and it's still somewhat dark. The only way I could lighten it up a bit is by adjusting the video card's brightness/contrast/gamma correction via Display menu in the Control Panel.

What gives? How come it defaults to this dark display? Any tips? Thanks..

My GTS is just a little darker than what I like, so I bumped the gamma notch up one click in the ctl pnl. In win2k, unreal tourney is really dark using opengl, but looks fine under d3d. Some monitor and card combinations are just dark, I think.
