Replacing CPU Fan

Hi everyone,

Bit of a newbie question- I opened up my Dell Inspiron 530 desktop a few days ago to unscrew the cpu fan in order to clean the heatsink which was caked with dust and also to install a new graphics card.

Fast forward a few days and I'm just about ready to close the case up but can't remember which way up the cpu fan should be put back on.

It's a Delta Electronics AFB0812SH- if anyone could let me know it would be extremely helpful!

If you are referring to just the fan then the quick answer would be to look on the fan itself and look for two perpendicular arrows somewhere on one of the sides. One arrow will tell you which direction the fan blades turn and the other will tell you the direction of the air movement.

Thanks for the info, I've re-fitted the fan; CPU is running a whole lot cooler now

The fan arrows are pretty universal so it's a good tip to know. Glad to hear everything is fine now.
