PLEASE HELP! Gta 4 VERY LAG SLOW Nvidia gtx 560 ti

I built a custom system recently and am having a tough time with all my games. They all have bugs to work out that I never had to deal with when using a gateway nv59 laptop.

Anyway, I installed gta 4 and when I start the game the graphics look sharp but I cant even move from the lag. I mean REALLY bad. I turned everything down and it still crawls. I'm guessing 7 fps.

Evga gtx560 ti stock speeds latest drivers 285.62
4 gb corsair vengeance
Asus saber p67 mobo

Here's the kicker....... This game, Grand theft auto 4, worked perfectly on a gateway nv59 laptop.

core i5 430m dual core
mobility radeon 5650
4 gigs memory

What GIVES? I upgrade to a gaming computer and can't play a game on it?? Please help with this.

Psu cooler master 650w Yes I installed the latest drivers Non beta. But if I look under the nvidia folder I see three folders with three drivers listed. But it installed the latest. Also this is the only game to have this problem. Bf3 works fine and so does fear 3. Just gta 4. I get 1 fps. I switch to using 2 cores and it ran more at 20 fps for 2 seconds then went back to 1 fps.

I suggest, since all other games run ok, that it is a problem with the game installation (you should re-install the game) or driver issue (uninstall and re-install drivers or try an older driver.)

Update..... I do not have the serial but that didn't create a prob with my last computer, it was able to play with offline activation fine with a windows local profile.

I tried the same thing with this pc and that's when I had the issues. Either my full windows live profile or a offline local one will make the game lag bad. When I tried a xlive fix the game loaded fine without any lag and played at 60 fps on high settings. Only I cannot access my save files and it says load failed check hard drive. I am really stumped, could the offline activation or the serial be a problem? How could that make the game play like I have a integrated card? Like I said, my last pc played it fine the same way and had a weaker gpu.

Did you try to reinstall the game and after that to install all the patches manually by the order?

Like I said the game will play perfectly without windows live active. I added the xlive.dll to my folder But the game will crash after five mins and will not be able to save any progress. I am also checking with the gta guys being it might be the game not the hardware.

Bottom line.... I installed the game twice and did everything the way I did it with my last pc and on this computer it isn't working. The game gives 1 fps when windows live is up. The game gets 60 plus fps without. I can't play the game properly without games for windows live running however. What could be wrong?

Would buying an serial and putting it in on windows live deactivate whatever is stopping the gpu from running at below minimum? Bascially seems like a securom thing.
