Xfx gt520 wont work properly!

I just got the Xfx geforce gt520 for christmass and for some reason direct3d wont work, whenever i try to play a game or anything i get the blue screen of death. I installed all the drivers that came on the disc and i even tried getting the most recent one but it still dosent work. i have the right power supply and i have an intel pentium dual so i dont know what the problem is.

Are you sure that your Windows and directX is fully updated?
