how do you check the disk rpm

You can't check it for yourself.

Not sure if this is the most efficient way, but you can open device manager, see what model your hard drive is, punch it into google, and it should tell you what RPM it is rated for.

look under windows storage and select your drive if you have more than one

The actual rotational speed, or the rated speed?

comes up with this for my mechanical drive--would say its the rated speed
