Your graphics card has no affiliation with your cpu so it wont improve your core speeds. Your ram however will make a slight improvement, but your P4 is way out of date and will barely be able to play the latest games. Whats your budget$? I just bought a new rig for only about $300 and it plays the latest games on high settings. If I was you id just save up so you can afford a new mobo and cpu first.

thnx ryan ... my budget is around $200 ofr which i was going to get an ATI RADEON HD 667O and 1x4 ddr rams. I think by adding a graphic card would certainly improve my pcs gamin abilities because graphic card is more responsible than processor.moreover i could use my graphic card in my future cpu also , so it wouldnt be wasted.i dont want to play games at full high definition so a good playable frame rate and decent medium or low setting is all i require.
further i can get an AMD FX 4100+ASUS MB IN THER SAME BUDGET OR AN i32100+mb in nthe same but then again i would need a new ram ddr3 + graphic card . that i cannot afford right now and moreover my current pentium 4 will be wasted which i want to retain for couple of more years , thats why i need to add some life to it but giving it an upgrade.

Ya the only conflict with upgrading your card to a atr radeon hd 6670 is its system requirements:
http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/amd-radeon-hd-6000/hd-6670/pages/amd-radeon-hd-6670-overview.aspx#3
-"PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.
-400 Watt or greater power supply recommended (500 Watt for AMD CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)"

I looked up your Intel 915 motherboard and it has a pci express x16 slot but you might need to upgrade your psu if its less than 400w to use the 6670.

Also when your upgrading your ddr ram make sure you get 400mhz or less or it may not work.
