Parts Preferences: I would like an i5 2500k (microcenter at $180) and a p67 MOBO

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in The Future

Monitor Resolution: 1080p

Additional Comments: ill be mostly playing battlefield 3, skyrim and minecraft, rendering in sony vegas and uploading videos to yutube, also things like facebook and photoshop.. it doesnt matter if its not a 2500k, an i5 2400 will be just ok...
 
That's a long ways away, some planning now would be good but by Black Friday, not saying AMD will be super good, but AMD is releasing Piledriver which is supposed to be the next step passed Bulldozer, hopefully that gives Intel compitition. Intel is also releasing Ivy Bridge, so those are two things coming out in your timeline of buying. With that said, if you're not purchasing now, wait till then to decide what to get.

Some pretty quick suggestions, easily I'd go for a 750w to leave room for SLI.
