SSD in BIOS, not in Disk/Device Management

I am new to building computers, and even newer to these forums, so any help is really appreciated.

My build follows:
Mobo: Foxconn (M61PMP-K) Socket AM3
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2
RAM: CORSAIR 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333
HDD: old 320g Hitachi, with a bare installation of WinXP
SSD: brand new OCZ Petrol 128g

The problem is that BIOS recognizes the SSD fine, and everything else is good to go, but Windows won't recognize the SSD so I can't partition/format it. I went into both Disk Management and Device Management, but neither showed more than one disk (the HDD).

  1. It sounds like you need to start over and use this tutorial for installing Win7 on a SSD.
