$135 CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233246
(I'll add another 16gb in the near future, perhaps another brand if this doesn't fit under the cpu cooler)

$34 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
(i think this will be enough to keep it cool for modest overclocks considering ambient house temperature is around 60F)

$110 Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769
(why is the SATA 6.0 $10 cheaper than SATA3.0?)
(have another WD 500gb that will be reused but almost all storage is external hd)

you don't need the 'Pro' version, consider this motherboard instead:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131792
- ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0: $190

or if not using the onboard graphics - and just overclocking - even this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157265
- ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0: $150

it's also a GEN3.. and saves you $55 from the Asus Pro Z68 Gen3

second - save another $40 - and get the Windows 7 Home Premium - the Pro version won't give you any useful benefits (unless you have to add it to a Server Domain?)

you won't need 800w - you can get the Corsair 650w one instead like this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139031
- CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W: $110 (it's modular too:))

- and last RAM - get a lower profile one - in case they interfere with the CPU cooler

All looks good and compatible, since this is your first build just remember to put thermal paste on your processor before booting up. Have fun with the beast.

I wanted plenty of extra power supply for who knows what in the future. I tend to keep my computers longer than most. win 7pro wanted for remote host.

thanks for the heads up

This card when over clocked comes close to running on par with a gtx 580. It's on a newer and smaller die than the 570's and 580's, it runs cooler and uses a lot less juice.
