8400gs cannot be detected, but there is a display

i have reformatted my pc. i installed all the necessary drivers. but when im going to install the driver for palit 8400gs. it wasnt detected. but i plugged the signal cable to the video card port and there is a display. i just cant install the driver for the video card. it says "no suitable hardware" means that there is no video card detected by the nvidia driver installer. what could be the problem?

It could be antivirus blocking it so have you tried the install in safe mode?
