I'm running GNOME under <font color=red>Red Hat 7.2</font color=red>. I'm getting this message when starting X :::

<font color=blue>"Could not look up internet address for local host. This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the probblem by adding localhost to the file /etc/hosts."</font color=blue>

I got this problem when I tried rebooting after trying to set up my internet connection under network setup. I think it's because I cleared the HOSTNAME and Domain field within the Network Configuration.

Could anyone tell me how to resolve this? I would really appreciate any ideas and help! Thanks! :smile:

Fixed it. Basically did what it said. Added localhost as the Host and for the domain I added localhost.localdomain.

Thanks anyways.
