Cannot find operating system, windows 7

I've pulled my harddrive out and plugged it into a new machine, it works just fine. yet my computer cannot find my operating system. what could be causing this, and how can it be fixed?

  1. You need to do a clean install of windows 7 on the computer you relocated the drive to.
  2. I only relocated it to that computer to make sure it works, I do not intend to leave it there. I want to fix the original machine.

  5. this did not help me. oh sadface.

    I thought, I'll just reformat, make a new partition and re-install windows7. I keep getting the notice that 'Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partion. see setup log files for more info'
