Should i get a Gtx 295 or a HD Radeon 6850

should i get a gtx 295 (1.7G - DDR3) or a HD Radeon 6850 (1G - GDDR5)

they both have the same price : 136$

Note That im gaming at a 1366x768

and i well be playing high end games and i want to max them.

should get hd 6850 it's newer and better.

a gtx 295 is quite a bit more powerful but with that being said it uses way more power and does not support direct x 11 so maxing games will not be possible on either

I had a Gtx 295 gaming on a 1920 x 1200 res, and the only problem I had was the "power saver feature." You would have to download riva tuner to get it working at normal speed.

If you don't mind taking a massive hit on performance on Dx11 for just a lil more eye candy, and unless you plan on crossfiring, I would go with the 295. It does use more power, and is loud, very loud, but I use head phones, so it doesn't bother me. You would get better performance.

One more thang, if you get the 295, make sure you have a well ventilated case. I applied MX-2 paste on the gpus bcuz the card does run hot. It dropped the temps about 8c, and my case had 9 fans throughout.
