Eyefinity wont work with 3 monitors

Hello,
When i attempted to use eyefinity with my 3 monitors, the computer will allow me to use any combination of the 3 monitors but forces me to disable one of the 3 monitors to use eyefinity. i have successfully been able to set eyefinity up with any combination of the 3 monitors but never all 3. i am currently using a sapphire radeon hd 6950 graphics card, and i have a display port adapter to dvi, as well as the other 2 monitors using dvi, although one could be using a hdmi to dvi adapter. the monitors are 2 accer x223w and an AOC 2243w. any help would be much appreciated

Just have to ask, is the display port adapter you are using an ACTIVE adapter, not passive? Also, is it on AMD's approved adapter list?

it is a passive display adapter, but it IS on the AMD approved adapter list

No, the passive adapter won't do.
