Right am planning a new budget gaming rig. will only really be used for gaming and some casual surfing. Trying to decide how to spread my budget.

Currently thinking along these lines,

getting

AMD Phenom II 960t or FX6100 or i3 2120 - all which are £100 atm.

and then

my question is, would this be okay and not 'bottleneck' the system, or should i bump the processor up to something like the i5 2400/2500 for around £150 and reduce the amount spent on the GPU.

cheers in advance for any advice :)

i3-2120 as noted but I would go with the Asrock z68 mobo that is ~$90 over the H61. That way you could upgrade to an i5 later if you chose. The 6870 is currently an excellent place to be on the gpu side and the combo with the i3 will do a nice job for some time (1-2 years)
