$900 Gaming Build Check
Feb 28, 2012, 4:13 AM
Can someone determine if this build is suitable or not:
Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower ATX Case
Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power
Intel Core i5-2500k 3.3 GHz
Corsair Vengeance Blu 8 GB (2X4 GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3 240-Pin SDRAM
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM
Asus 24xDVD±RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive
SAPPHIRE AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE
Additional Comments: Please suggest any changes that may be suitable. I am quite unsure about the MOBO, RAM, and PSU.

Perfect! Unless you want to save some money or spent more ... otherwise this is a good build for most of the game .....

Pretty good. Can do a bit better IMO. Essentially, the $800 build in my sig with a i5 2500k + cooler.

So you would switch out everything but the 2500k? What about the PSU? 650w is an overkill?
Feb 28, 2012, 8:24 AM
A little bit. That PSU can run 2x HD6870's easily.
