Well I just built a new pc today, parts are as listed.

Asrock 970Extreme 3
Amd Fx4100
8gigs Gskill ram
Windows vista 64 bit Ultimate (Yeah I know, upgrade already)

The pc boots up and whatnot, but obviously with some minor errors, drivers not working etc...

I am wanting to reformat the HD and start fresh, but I cannot get it to boot from cd or anything.

Any ideas?

Please help LOL

Are you trying to quick format from the Vista installation disc or are you trying to do a clean format from the DOS command prompt?

It's been a while since I formatted Vista but I think the procedures are the same in 7 - insert the disc in the drive and wait for the install program to start up. Then go into "Install Now" ---> "Choose Drive" ---> Click on source drive ---> drive "Format".

If you do a clean format from the command prompt you have to go to the install program ---> Fix PC errors --> Command prompt. At the command prompt go to your C drive, then type "format" and follow the prompts and when it's done enter a name for the volume..
