Graphics card not recognized?

For some reason, my new nVidia 460 isn't being recognized by the computer. When I try to install the latest drivers, the computer says that the graphics card is not recognized. My power supply is indeed connected, and I enabled everything in the BIOS. I try to plug my monitor into the graphics card but nothing is showing up. What should I do? My mobo is Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3.

  1. Have you disabled the on board GFX / enabled the discrete GFX ?

Have you attached the two 6 pin power plugs to the GFX card ?
