URGENT - Upgrade my HD 5770 to HD 6870?

Hey, So I found a Deal today on the internets offering:

HIS Radeon HD 6870 1 GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card + Free dirt 3 game

and I was wondering if it was worth 178.49$ to replace my trusty:

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 (not sure if but pretty certain 256-bit) card

Im gonna use the card for BF3 and Skyrim. I would also like to start up my own youtube channel but with my 5770 fraps puts out this nasty popping sound and I've found out from these forums that It's my GPU that's the problem. SO... should I upgrade? Please respond asap, sale is one day only and the card is not worth it if I don't get the sale.

  1. canada sucks man, tax and terribly high prices. im looking at this from newegg.ca:

  2. Yeah, than you're destend to pay more like the rest of us poor sods.

Something to do with value added taxes those Yanks ;) don't have to pay :p
  3. Never picked up Powercolor, but here ya go, unless you wanted the IccQ cooler

Long as the rebate clears, may be worth a look
You missed some good deals at ncix.com
  4. hmm interesting, but with a name like "powercolor" I have to wonder how reliable they are :P I'll look into it though. Still the main question is is it worth the money (140$-170$) to upgrade from the 5770?
  5. For me, the upgrade is not worth it and BF3 & Skyrim will benifit more with a 6950 or gtx560ti minimun.
  6. +1

Skyrim is CPU limited, a better graphics card would not help.
  8. powercolor seems ok for a budget brand.
  9. well it looks like you need a new card so that HIS Iceq card is likely the best deal price performance you will find
  10. ok well now i dont know if I should get the 6870 that's on sale (178.49) or if i should just get a 6950 for 200-230$ ish to avoid having to buy another GPU this time next year. Any suggestion on what I should do?
