Hello all.

Simply question; will I be able to boot a system running on a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Motherboard WITHOUT a dedicated GPU?

I understand that the CPU has intel HD4000 graphics built in and the motherboard has video-out options.

I should be safe, right?

There would be no point in having IGP directly in the CPU and video ports directly on the motherboard if the PC could not boot using IGP.

Unless there is some weird BIOS bug, there should be no problems with booting using IGP without discrete GPU. The ability to forgo discrete GPUs in applications with low graphics requirements is one of the main reason why almost every x86 CPU on the market now has IGP.

Should be fine and safe.. as long as your component are working and you have put them in correctly :p

Thanks all for the fast and informative reply!

I was 99% sure but needed confirmation. Last PC I built was before CPUs even had IGPs :O
