Emachine t6524 pci graphics card

The on board adapter died on my 83 year old dad computer ( the computer is not that old) so I would like to buy a used one and disable the on board adapter.1st Will this work and what would you recommend? It is a PCI, correct?

It has a pci-e x16 slot. I assume your dad isn't a hard core gamer and you need a low profile card ?
Where do you buy from ?
